Memorial Weekend

Memorial Weekend Ben went to the cabin with Aidan on Friday and I stayed behind with Ethan for my cousin's wedding reception. I met up with them later on Sunday. Aidan went fishing with his dad and grandpa Belmont on Saturday morning and had a blast. They went on lots of 4 wheeler rides and rode in the trailer behind the bike. Aidan will tell you all the things he saw too. A porcupine, horny toads, squirrels, frogs, rock chucks, salamanders and more! Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

Brooke's Wedding

A few weekends ago I drove down to Vegas and spent the week there with the family. Then on Friday morning I got up and left to LA. My mother-in-law insisted I leave both the boys but I just couldn't do that. She did convince me to at least leave Ethan which I was really sad about at first. Later that weekend I realized it was for the best. Aidan is old enough that he doesn't require much attention and so the weekend was really enjoyable and Ethan got to stay and bond with his Grandma Kathy. Aidan and I had a lot of fun in California. My cousin's wedding was beautiful. It was a crazy day but it was a lot of fun. Thanks mom and dad for putting us up in a GREAT hotel! Aidan kept asking to go back to California to the hotel! Congratulations Brooke and Jake!

Ethan's Groove!

Ethan is hilarious when it comes to dancing! Anytime he hears music whether its on the TV or the radio, even if its a short commercial, he has to get up and dance! He has soooooo much energy and it never seems to wear out. I have a small idea where he gets it from…:)

Almost a year in the making!

Well I thought maybe I should start blogging again since I don't have any more excuses not to. I am just going to recap the last several months and just give the highlights of those months and maybe add some pictures to them. Let's see...in July we lost our camera in the river up at Sundance (which I am still sick about), then we went to the Stadium of Fire and saw the Jonas brothers. We then moved down to Vegas since Ben was going to be working down there for awhile.

In August we went on one of the funnest trips I have ever been on. Ben, the boys and I went with Belmont, Kathy and Zach to Jackson Hole Wyoming, drove through Yellowstone and then went on to Big Sky Montana. We all had such a blast. We went on bike rides, white water rafting, and zip lining. Not to mention all the wildlife we saw and we also saw Old Faithful. It was such a low key vacation, it was so awesome! Later that month I took the boys down to Newport Beach where my family had rented a beach home. We got to spend a week on the beach...it was so great! Ben had to skip out on this one for work. :(

In September for Labor Day Ben and I went up the Reno and spent the week there. We went to the annual Rib Cookoff and had some great food! We also spent some time up at Lake Tahoe, which is always such a treat!

In October we lived with our friends Deven and Shelley in Orem for about a week while Ben worked and I looked for a place to live. That was a rough week. We couldn't find anything. And then on Saturday, a new listing popped up and we thought we would take a chance. Needless to say, it was a blessing. It's in the same ward as our good friends Rich and Amanda, its just behind Thanksgiving Point, and it had everything we wanted and more! It's been so great. I moved us out of our storage unit up in Sandy with the help of my brother and aunt. And then met Zach and Andrew at our new place and moved everything in, well into the garage at least. Ben was still working in Vegas, I was ready to have our own place again. That's why I was so motivated to get it done while Ben was still in Vegas. Thanks to everyone who helped me, and watched my kids and to my sweet mother who came and helped me put everything away and went shopping for decor! I love our new home. We were so sad to leave our friends and ward up in Sandy but we were needing a change. It's been a lot of fun down here in Lehi!

In November we lost our sweet Grandma Anderson. She had been sick for awhile but it did come a little fast. I loved Grandma Anderson more then anyone could ever know. I had such a fond place for her in my heart. Ben and I had the opportunity to live with her and grandpa for a couple of months back in 2007. I will treasure those months forever. She was such an example to me in everything she did and who she was. Her and grandpa were your quintessential love story! They were always so good to each other! Going to her funeral just reaffirmed all the feelings I had about Grandma and the wonderful friend, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she was to everyone.

We did spend Thanksgiving in Reno even though Grandmas funeral was the day before Thanksgiving. She had passed away that Saturday before. We went ahead and left to Reno and then on Tuesday left the boys in Reno and took off back to Utah. Then came back to Reno right after the funeral on Wednesday. We had an amazing Thanksgiving! Oh and before I forget...the day after Thanksgiving Ben and I went to the Mac store to look at computers since mine was about to crash. My poor computer was about 7 years old so it was time. We got a Mac for our Christmas present! I will just tell you that that Mac sat in it's box in our room for a month before I was able to open in up. Ben said it was for Christmas and he meant it! That would be one of the reasons I haven't blogged for so long.

Oh December...the usual...picking out the Christmas tree, visits with Santa, and Christmas Christmas Christmas!

Aidan turned three in December and went into Sunbeams in January. Ethan went into Nursery. We signed Aidan up for Itty Bitty Basketball which he did okay in. I realized he doesn't do well with structure. He would do okay in the group if everyone had there own ball but when it came time to take turns...forget it. He was off in lala land doing who knows what. That was for the first two weeks in January and then I was at my aunt's house in Sandy for the rest of the month taking care of their five kids while they went to Hawaii for two weeks.

February was unevenful which was a nice break...then in March I turned 27. Very low key. We went to the cabin a couple of times and Ben took Aidan skiing. He did really well!

April came and went really fast. We had an enjoyable Easter and Conference weekend up at the cabin. I will be honest it's like 2 holidays in one but it turned out okay.

Here it is May and I am now 5 months pregnant and with our third boy I just found out. So I am not going to lie I had my hopes set on a girl, but I love my boys and I know this one will be just as cute!

Hello blogging world!

Life has been in a whirlwind! I was in Vegas the whole month of May visiting family. Came home in June just to pack up and move out of our duplex. Also watched my cousins for two weeks straight. And in all the chaos we celebrated Ethans first bday and potty trained Aidan. They say don't ever try to potty train your toddler in the middle of a move or some big transition but Aidan did it! He has been awesome! I will say that after the first week I thought I would kill myself and was about ready to give up but he just did 180* turn and is completely accident free for a month! Oh it is the best feeling not having to have two kids in diapers and making a trip to Costco every two weeks to replace your diapers. (Thats because Aidan and Ethan were in the same size diapers.) We are now back in Las Vegas and will be here until October when Ben's job is done. Then we will head back to Salt Lake. We had a great 4th of July although Ben and I lost our camera in the river up at Sundance! I have been sick about it ever since but what can you do. Just a month worth of pictures thats all! :( So I don't know what pictures I will be able to post but I will try to post something once we get situated here in Vegas.

Bedtime? What?!

Talk about loads of energy!

Aidan's Bedtime? from jaclyn on Vimeo.

Terrible Two's

I take back what I said about Aidan not being your typical two year old! I take it all back! He has been so mischevious and mean and sometimes really aggressive. Just today after my kickboxing class I went to pick him and Ethan up at the daycare and saw Aidan shove a girl. Who knows why! I seriously had just had it because he had been mean to Ethan all morning and this was the last straw. I tried to talk to him and get him to apologize but he just laughed and tried to run away. I apologized for Aidan to the little girl who was bawling her eyes out. I felt so bad but I didn't know what to do. I talked to him but I also understand kids his age go through these stages. I just hope he goes through this one fast! Here are some pictures though of what he has been doing when I leave him for just a couple of minutes! Lots of powdered sugar, jello, sprinkles...

Ethan's first steps!

Ummm...Ethan is only 10 months old and he took his first steps about a week ago. His favorite thing right now is if I am laying or sitting on the ground he will pull himself up on me and just stand there with out holding on. This day I moved away and held out my hands to him and he walked two steps towards me and then fell into my arms! I couldn't believe it! My little boy is getting so BIG!

My Boys!

We have been soaking up the sun while it's here. Either we are at a park playing and laying out or we are in our backyard playing and laying out. These boys LOVE being outside. They just hate being cooped up in the house all the time so that's why we are taking advantage of the warm weather while it's here.

Ethan's Schedule...

Ethan's morning routine is waking up between 8-8:30am. He always wakes up with a nice little surprise for me, so I change his diaper and take him downstairs to feed him a bottle and then make breakfast and so forth....but for the last few days he has been waking up around 7am or sometimes earlier for who knows what reason. This is what I have found about an hour before he is supposed to lay down for his nap!

Happy Belated Easter! :)

We had a wonderful Easter. We have church at 9am so we had to get up extra early and see what the Easter bunny brought! Came home after church and got ready to feed 16 people! Between Ben's family and mine, with a few friends in between, we fed about 16 people. It was great in our tiny little duplex! :) Honestly it was a great day! It had been raining and snowing the whole week before and Sunday was so nice and sunny outside! Couldn't have asked for a better Easter! Thanks to everyone who helped!

LOVE sleeping babies!

Snow keeps coming!

Gotta love the random snow in March!

Reno

I know I am a slacker but here it goes...at the end of March I went to Reno to celebrate my uncle's 50th bday! What a celebration! When my uncle was born the doctors told my grandma a lot of discouraging things about Glen but she did the best she could and had the most positive attitude and here he is 50 years later and loving life! Glen is the happiest person I know. He can make anyone smile and just laughs at everything in life. If only some of us could have the joy he has and the positive attitude he has towards life, this life might be just a bit better! It's better for me just because I know him!
