Yes, so some of you have heard...we welcomed our sweet little boy into this world on June 11, 2008 at 11:43pm. He weighed in at 7lbs. 4oz and measured at 20in long. The whole day is a long story but I will try to make it short. Ben was out of town for the week for work. Earlier that afternoon on Wednesday I was driving back from Ogden because I had to go get some things out of the Focus before they totalled it. On the way home I started to have contractions. Nothing serious but I did notice they were pretty consistent so I started to time them. They were coming every five minutes. When I got home my friend Amanda called to see if I was still up to go out to eat dinner. I told her of course because I really felt fine. While at dinner the contractions started coming every three minutes but still very bearable. This really started to worry my friend but I assured her I was fine. So after dinner I told her lets go ahead and go to the mall. She was really worried but I told her I would let her know if they became too much for me. Sure enough while walking through the mall they really started to hit hard! So we headed home and I was still under the impression that if I were to lay down and take it easy they would eventually go away. By the time we got back to my house Amanda was doing everything she could to help out. Trying to talk to Delta so Ben could get the next flight home, packing for Aidan and me while I laid in bed thinking I might actually die from the pain of the contractions! We were able to drop Aidan off at my friend Jenn's home which I really appreciate because he absolutely loves her and her girls! Onto the freeway we went only to make it to the top of the point of the mountain to see that all lanes were closed due to an accident. At this time I really started to get scared and didn't know if we would make it all the way to Orem. So my friend quickly got off the next exit and luckily we were able to get right back on at Thanksgiving Pointe. Needless to say we made it and with some time still left for the much needed epidural. I was dialated to a 5 1/2 when we arrived and 2 hours later was fully dialated to a 10. I had to have two epidurals done almost a third. The first didn't take to my left side so he took it out and redid it only to have the right side start feeling the pain. He was able to make some adjustments and the right side went numb along with the left. It was smooth sailing after that. I am so grateful to have had my good friend Amanda there by my side along with my sister Roxanne and my brother's girlfriend Beth! Ben didn't make it in time because I went so fast but he got there about 2 hours later to see his little boy. I am so grateful to our wonderful friends in our ward who were so willing to help out any way they could.

jaclyn! Congratulations! I am so excited for you and this sweet new addition to your family. I am so glad you have good friends who could take care of you when you really needed it!
Send me your address- I have something for Ethan but was going to mail it and then I realized I don't have your address!
Congratulations again! I am so so happy for you!
Congratulations!!! I'm glad everything worked out for you. I've been checking your blog constantly to see how soon you'd be able to get pictures of little Ethan up. He's adorable! Whitney is only 3 months old and I already forget how teeny they start out! Let me know if you need anything at all!
Congrats!!! He is sooo cute! You had a heck of a week- if you need anything let me know and when you feel up to it I will come down to see you.
oh my gosh! what a story! of course, it had to happen while ben was gone!:( congratulations!!! he is SO cute and i can't wait to see more pictures! i'll keep checking back.:)
Jaclyn,
You are too funny! When your 39 weeks pregnant I don't think contractions like that will go away if you just lay down for a bit, I don't think they work like headaches do! However, I think I could see myself doing the same thing, especially if my husband were out of town. Because if mom's not ready then baby shouldn't be either...right?! Well, it all makes for a fun and cute story! Congratulations on your new addition! I can't wait to see more pictures! Take care!
Love,
Amber
Thanks for posting the photos for us all to see. He does look like Aidan did. Too cute. I just got back from the wedding in Arizona and was glad to see that you had gotten your act together and posted some photos of Ethan. :) I really am glad that everything went well for you and that you are both healthy and doing well. I am hoping to come and see you sometime this week-I will find out this morning after the doctors appointment. Love you and that darling family.
Congratulations Jaclyn & Ben! What an exciting story! :)
Congratualations!! That is so exciting that you have two boys now. I'm glad everything went ok.
congrats! Oh my word what a cute little baby, with all that hair! I can't wait to see him in person & hold that little guy. Jaclyn I was dying laughing when I read your labor story! It's funny how when you are really in labor you're in denial! I did the same thing, cleaning the house, packing, and showering and getting ready at 3:00a.m. while Jaren is freaking out saying ENOUGH let's go to the hospital. You are too cute!
Congratulations! We can't wait to meet our newest nephew. He is precious!
yay! congrats! welcome ethan!
